Pleasure often disappears in the middle of busy routines. Work, schedules, and responsibilities fill the day, leaving little space to notice how the body actually feels. Physical exercise slowly helped me to bring back the right attention to my feelings.

Workouts is impiortant for me as a part of my day to decompress from the rest of the activities, but somehow I always noticed that it almost feels as if the goal was simply to finish the routine and move on. This topic was on my mind for few years until I eplored it with my sex coach while talking about areas of my life where I felt I could be more in connection with myself.

I decided to add an extra 20 min to my workouts to start paying closer attention to what was happening during each movement. Stretching, lifting, or running began to feel different when my attention stayed on the body instead of drifting on mobile tasks and people around me. It almost felt like having an intimate conversation with my body.

Running offered some of the clearest moments of awareness. Sweat forming on the skin, the sounds generated by my body, clothes and shoes and the skin sensing all around. Progress also became easier to appreciate when attention stayed on the process. Holding a plank for a full minute once felt nearly impossible. The first time it happened brought a quiet sense of satisfaction. Similar moments appeared with longer runs, heavier weights, or improved balance during a yoga pose.

I started to realise that when talking with a personal trainer about the workout I was using more terms and words related to feelings of my body which made it clear which muscles I had to train more and that impressed me.

The workouts themselves did not change dramatically, I shifted my experience and focus while doing it and I could see the benefit of this focus also in my intimacy. After workout I could really feel a deeper connection with my body and increased sexual desire.
